Building for the Future

Redvers Chamber of Commerce & Community is striving to make Redvers and District a better place to live and work. The generation of employment opportunities enables more people to earn higher incomes and enjoy a better quality of life.

The lack of development competence at the community level has been a significant contributing factor to the steady decline of rural Saskatchewan. Such is not the case here as shown by the steady progress in and around Redvers. Retailers in the area have banded together for goods and services they would like second to none. The future for downtown is a bright one with business possibilities emerging at all times.

To employ greater numbers of people new opportunities for secondary manufacturing is being investigated and promoted at all times. However, utilization of out primary resources, namely farming and oil, has been the backbone of the past and will be the key to the future. The farming community dictated economic success or failure within out community. Area development studies show a trend towards more cultivated acreage and fewer farms. Studies also show a gradual move toward younger farmers and entrepreneurs. This is a real plus for any small town.

The agricultural and oil industry is an ever expanding one especially in southeast Saskatchewan. There is nothing concrete at this time, as to the future but the benefits in the past and near future are already immeasurable.

In summary, the future for Redvers is looking very good. The combination of young and old, the ambitious and the wise should make for a progressive community through the 21st Century.
