Education

Redvers SchoolRedvers School has a long tradition of excellence in many areas. It has been and continues to be a place where achievement and striving of excellence is a source of pride for our students, staff and community. Redvers School's motto is "In Pursuit of Excellence" and the 30 staff members and the 300 students from K to 12 strive for this on a daily basis throughout the school year. Redvers School offers programs of study to all levels from Kindergarden to Grade 12. Saskatchewan Education curricula is used as the basis for all courses. Frequent and regular curriculum renewal programs and inservices have ensured that the best possible offerings are maintained.

Redvers School offers an excellent academic and athletic program. Students' academic and athletic accomplishments are recognized at our annual Awards Day Ceremony each June. In addition to the core academic subjects, a number of other courses are offered. A strong Band Program is in place for students from grades 4 through 12. Core French is taught to students from grade 4 to 12. Practical and Applied Arts courses are offered from Grade 8 to 10. Computer Information Processing courses are offered where computers are used as business education tools. A Computer Production Technology course is offered to selected high achieving students. A CareerGuidance program assists students in planning for choices to be made after graduation. Driver Training is offered to our students as well.

School Computer LabRedvers School has an excellent library and offers free internet access to members of the public under the CAP program (Community Access Project). An active Student Representative Council (SRC) provides many services and enhancement to student life. Spirit weeks, Christmas banquets, the ski trip, school pictures, magazine drives, operation of the servery and drink machines, Terry Fox Run, K-6 dances and fund raisers are some of the activies students participate in. Students have also established a SADD chapter, its objectives is to deal with drinking and driving issues and in coordination with the Carlyle RCMP detachment our students participate in the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program. Extracurricular activies include a very active drama program and yearbook committee.

Redvers School has an extremely competitive athletic program with athletes participate in golf, cross country, volleyball, basketball, curling, badminton and track & field. Our students have represented Redvers School in every competition from the Division, District, Regional, and Provincial level.

Redvers Elementary School also has numerous programs to enhance the lives of students. Students participate in school trips to Regina such as visiting the Government Buildings, Science Centre/Imax, Canadian Western Agribition, Children's Festival, and Cultural Mosaic. Students can participate in the Reading Club, Elementary Drama Club, Elementary Choir, Winter Carnival, Christmas Concert, Music Festival, Band Concerts, Spell A Thon, Science Fair, and the Elementary Track and Field Meet.

Redvers School has many support staff that help provide the best possible services for students and teachers. Secretaries and Librarians are important support staff members that assist in ensuring a smooth operation of the school. Tutorial Assistants are key to assisting individual students with programs. Offering support from the Division level are a Special Education Consultant, Speech and Language Pathologist, School Student Worker, Assistant Director and Director of Education.
